As an expectant parent in the weeks leading up to the big day, you have a thousand and one decisions to make. From decorating the baby’s nursery to planning the perfect shower in between ultrasounds, you’ve got a lot to do before you and your family welcome the new arrival.
Needless to say, while you’re busy checking “to do” items off your list, it’s easy to let one (or maybe two) slip through the cracks.
Don’t worry, we’re parents too (we know all about baby brain) and we’re here to help.
Forget to register? Don’t panic
In order to ease the stress of parents wanting to bank their baby’s cord blood, we now offer on-site cord blood collection kits (formerly known as emergency kits) at select hospitals throughout Ontario, and Montreal that are available to each and every soon-to-be parent at no additional charge.
These cord blood collection kits are the same used to collect the cord blood of babies whose parents have already registered for collection. They are designed to be available for parents who have registered with Cells for Life but go into early labour or forget their kit at home, as well as parents who change their mind last minute, or didn’t have a chance to register beforehand.
Need a cord blood collection kit? Just ask
If you’re pregnant and find yourself at the hospital without a collection kit, simply ask your labour and delivery team if they have Cells for Life kits on hand.
Hospital staff will then provide you with the Cells for Life kit. Within this kit is a handy checklist for parents and paperwork we will need in order to process your sample. You will be able to pay for both the collection kit and the processing fee as per our parent-friendly pricing plan.
If you have any questions about using our on-site collection kits, please feel free to contact us! Our team is always happy to answer any questions you might have about cord blood banking with Cells for Life.

*Note: Air Logistics is available in Toronto, Ottawa and Windsor for client’s hospitals that do not appear on the list. Please discuss with labour and delivery at your chosen hospital.
